The Projects Abroad Foundation, founded in 2005, is a charity registered in England no.110992.

The charity was originally established as a charitable arm of Projects Abroad (www.projects-abroad.net). Projects Abroad is a for-profit company which arranges volunteering and internships, and it supports the Projects Abroad Foundation with funds and with volunteers and interns.

The Foundation helps to fund a number of charitable projects supported by Projects Abroad volunteers, but the bulk of its turnover (£26.73k in 2023 and £43.78k in 2024) goes to the school in Akokoa.

The Foundation sends funds for Akokoa to its associate NGO in Ghana “Impact Projects Abroad”, which directly manages the school.

The main donors are Projects Abroad (UK) Ltd (£30k in 2024 and £31k in 2025), and the Norwegian charity, Tore Eikelands Legat, (£13k in 2024 and £15k in 2025), and there are also private donors (£4k in 2024 and £9k in 2025).

The cost of running the main school operations in Akokoa comes to an average of £40k per year. The accounts of the school are transparent and available for donors on request.

The Projects Abroad Foundation has adopted the Projects Abroad Safeguarding Policy.

The trustees of the Projects Abroad Foundation are Peter Slowe, Sheila Luke, Abigail Kumah Amesi and Prenashan Singh. The trustees of the NGO in Ghana are Anita Amaoko-Gyimah, Mircea Samoila, Brian Caplan and Alistair Slowe.
